Artist's Comments

This is one of my treasured pieces. The woman is a friend of mine, flash back 30 years or so. She is in black and white to show her permanence in the world. The dove symbolizes the Spirit who is always with her- how she reflects God's love in everything that she does and everyone that she interacts with.

acrylic on canvas, 30x30

I like this a lot. Reminds me of a cross between Degas (did wall patterning, though his portrait models didn't usually look at the viewer) and David Hockney wh has done phenomenal portraits. One called Still Life (i think) comes to mind.

Why, thank you!
